Glory glory to Poczta Polska! I’ve just received my parcel “List polecony priorytetowy” and it took 5 weeks to reach Australia. Thank you everyone for helping me with your experiences and suggestions on my last reddit post

1. Well given it had a CN-22 declaration with a declared value, it means it had to be registered by the Australian customs. Hence the probable delay. You can check the tracker to see how long it stayed in customs after arriving in australia. I would be quite curious as well.

   I send a lot of letters through PP and the travel time of the packages themselves is ~1/3 of the total delivery time. Most of it is spent in customs, postal border crossing warehouses or similiar.

   I am not claiming that PP is perfect – by any means no. Just when it comes to deliveries outside of the EU, customs are very slow in clearing the incoming goods (especially when not marked as “gifts” but as merchandise – the customs agency have to then check everything to see if they need to put any fees on the package).

2. Wow five weeks is insanely good for Poland to Australia.

3. can you tell from the tracker who was contracted to do EU-AUS transfer? Or was it flown POL-AUS? (mildly curious)

4. That’s faster than letter going by poczta polska from Kraków to Warszawa!

5. 5 weeks to Australia? It takes 5 weeks to reach my house from my local post office!

6. I just got a package from Poland here in Canada that was sent more than 2 months ago

7. It would take the same amount to reach another city in Poland
