Chancellor’s spending freeze means ‘£11bn of cuts’ for schools and hospitals

  1. First, the government sets up the industry-preferred Energy Price Relief Scheme which consisted entirely of stuffing TENS OF BILLIONS of pounds of taxpyer money down the trousers of energy suppliers as EXCESS PROFITS

Pretty sure there were other ways forward that didnt involve UK taxpayers paying for even more oligarch yachts.

Partial Nationalisation? Increased taxes on the rich? Closing tax loopholes? A Wealth Tax? More Windfall taxes? Blitz on home insulation?- None get a look in.

Second, the government implements massive public service cuts to pay for the scheme.

And this is what the country has repeatedly voted for since 2010? Unbelieveable.

  2. So things that benefit society as a whole being cut so the rich who evade taxes anyway can pay even less taxes.

  3. But what about the 30 new Hospitals and the 20,000 new Police Officers? Oooh they wouldn’t have been lying all along would they?

  4. Schools are already in a precarious position, this just means more cuts to support staff, and subjects like art and PE. Some schools may end up so underfunded that even opening five days a week might not be viable. It’s disgraceful but private schools will be fine, so the Tories won’t care as their children are unaffected.

  5. Just what was needed, the education system and the NHS has been rolling around in reams of excess cash for far too long! /s

  6. Lets keep in mind Covid plus noro/rhino virus looking to be ripe this winter, nurses strikes and in terms of education, school children have already suffered during lockdown.

Primary schools in my area are also going the extra mile to offer struggling families food.
