Bought this 10Rp. coin from 1882, am a little suspicious of the guy that sold it to me for 5Fr. If there are any numismatists here, is this real or fake?

If it WAS fake that would make it more valuable.
But I can’t comment on if 5.- was a good deal or not 🤷🏻♂️
The 5 CHF you gave him was undoubtably real.
Who would fake 10rp coins to sell for 5chf, there is such a little market
I once found a 2rp. from 1903 in the dirt 😀
It’s real. I used to have a few of them as a kid, they are not very rare. Won’t be worth 5.- for most people. But if it is worth for you, why not? Just keep it, don’t expect it to sell for more.
Why would someone go through the pain of faking a coin for…5 CHF?
That marble countertop is awaking long lost memories for me. U live at my old place fs
Well it should be made of silver shouldn’t it?
Did you buy it from Prof. Dr. Heinz Martin? This crazy dude was my old boss and he is selling some coins over ricardo… this dude is really fucking crazy.
if you dont agree with him, he is one step away to sens his lawyer to you !:)
Switzerland surprises me more and more every fucking day. In Ukraine 1992 coins seem to be rare as hell.
Coins aren’t fake usually – faking paper money is simpler than coin money (And gives more value out of it) But a Coin that is made in 18xx isn’t really really really rare… Keep an eye if you pay cash on the coins backsite. There you find the year on every coin.
So 5CHF for it was a bit much, but hey, if it was worth for you 🙂
according to numis.ch its exactly worth 5.-

I’m not a coin collector but I don’t think it’s worth much more than 1 franc, unless you were to manage to find one that is uncirculated.
The problem with such items that have a small catalogue value like this one, it is that you will have a hard time finding someone that sells them for that amount. People don’t want to bother going through a sale process just for one franc; so you end up overpaying a little.
Maybe if you want to collect coins, you should register on Numista. You might find people that will be willing to exchange coins will you.

Can I sell you a CHF 100 note for CHF 1000?
Fair deal

That’s the most Swiss thing I’ve heard on this subreddit
Where do you sell these kinds of coins? I have like 500+ old coins xD
