Mandatory reminder that the law states that any full face covering is punishable and burkas are not even mentioned in the law, even though it was clearly targeted by those who came up with it. But being a black block rioter with face covering is just as punishable even though it happens for very different reasons.
Our last right-wing government also introduced such a law, although the fines are much lower. Seems kind of weird to ban any kind of face covering in public, but the right-wing’s gonna right-wing.

I honestly see in the world right now the tide is turning against full head coverings anyway. People might call it racist, but eventually they do need to be phased out. It’s not really even mandatory anyway, it’s up to religious interpretation. 100 years ago many Christian countries wore head coverings too and some still do in church. This isn’t unique to islam, they just never had a proper women’s rights movement.
