I’m hoping this is the right place to be posting this.
I’m from Hungary and as far as I can tell all of my maternal ancestors were Danube Swabians, that is, Germans who have migrated to Hungary in the 17hundreds.
I have a video from a while back that I submitted to Wikitongues of my late grandma speaking her dialect. I would love to hear what native German speakers think of it? Is it understandable for you guys? Can you place the dialect?
I should add that my grandparents spoke what we call “sváb” at home, but their kids (including my mom) did not learn it, so by extent I also don’t speak it unfortunately.
