Hi everyone!

I have a flight from Berlin to Dubai with a 45 minute layover at Frankfurt airport from Lufthansa, and will be switching to Emirates.

Will I be able to make it in time in this 45 minutes for my next flight? I heard I will have to go through passport control and/or security/customs as I am exiting the Schengen zone.

If I include the time spent on passport check, is it still manageable?

Can anyone share their experience?

I checked from their [website](https://www.frankfurt-airport.com/en/flights-and-transfer/transferring-at-fra.html), this is what it says:

* **You are arriving from a Schengen country and are traveling to a non-Schengen country:**  You will probably have to clear a passport check. Depending on your nationality, you may require a transit visa. If in doubt, please contact an embassy or consulate of your country.

  1. That’s not much time. Frankfurt airport is very big and walking distances between your gate to the security checkin could be 20 minutes. Then when you get to security there will also be a queue. So if possible I would change your connection.

  2. Yes you will have passport control.
Is the flight booked under the same booking number? Then no need to worry since it’s upto the airlines to make sure they have enough time..

If you booked two seperate tickets then I think it might be tough. Even if you were able to do it in 45 minutes what if your flight from Berlin to Frankfurt is late?
