  1. The problem with the English is… …being governed by shitty center right parties for far too long.

The problem with the Irish is… …being governed by shitty center right parties for far too long.

    Yup. The original odd couple.

  2. Jesus Christ. Do some research. Loads of videos available of them shaking hands just seconds before.

I just googled it to check if this was true,,,,, guess what. It’s bollocks.

  3. ‘Well that’s the bloody Irish question isn’t it… why can they remember what happened 200 years ago, but can’t remember what happened last night’

I hope Murphy and Hardy had a great laugh at that line when filming, it nailed us pretty good

  4. Problem is Wilde never said that. He made comments about the Irish situation of his period…but he never said that.

  5. The idolisation of Murphy as if he’s some hard man just cause he pretends to be one in front of a camera… The editing of a non-moment to be some dramatic Nationalist point of ire… The made-up Wilde quote… And this isn’t even the first time it’s been posted here.

  6. This clip always makes me laugh because some people genuinely believe Cillian Murphy hates the English, when he’s always spoken so well about them in interviews and even wore a poppy when promoting stuff in November a few years back.

They’d swear he embodies his character from The Wind That Shakes the Barley when it’s quite the opposite. Not that that’s bad at all either.

  7. “Oh I just love to shake hands and smile at a man and then stare at him and think ohh God here come the flashbacks”
    -cillian Murphy

  8. in fairness he always hates meaningless interview for his movies, hes always rolling his eyes and just looks so bored in them

  9. To English history happened to other people to Irish history happened to us, big difference when history = suffering

  10. I recall an old sub from a prior account, something like r/SuddenlyIRA …. that’s not it. Can’t find it now. Does anyone know it?

  11. I don’t know if the English accent is better or worse than the hardcore D4 accent of monkstown BlackRock. “Roysh dad I am off to the local for a few sticks hiennamite, don’t wait up.
