There’s been a lot of dog attacks on Liverpool recently.
The numbers this year are higher than usual:

Say the line pitbull owners….
Waiting for the comments from everyone telling us it’s not the dog it’s the owners!
Yea sure, when has a person ever been killed by a labrador
How many deaths is it going to take before we implement much tighter restrictions on dog ownership?
Pro Tip: don’t buy a dog that you couldn’t beat in a fight.
I think I saw my first XL American Bulldog today… was beyond ridiculous in size and was only 14 months old. Loads bigger than a Cane Corso that three grown men near me couldn’t tear away from another dog that it killed. Must be mad to own one of these things.
It’s spaniels again isn’t it? Those fuckers are out of control.
Was it the type of dog I assume it is?
I used to believe it’s the owner not the dog but sadly when a breed has been selectively bred for hundred years to have a specific trait, they’re gonna be much more likely to act this way
In my experience most dog owners don’t know what they are doing and don’t properly train their dogs. But they have easy forgiving breeds.
Some people unfortunately get dogs bred for fighting, that have been further fucked up by dodgy breeders on Facebook or the like.
I’ve not looked but I bet I know the breed.
Poxy things, I saw one the other day in the park, a dopey skinny looking rat boy in a vest and grey teddy bear trousers, phone in one hand, on a bike and one of these dogs on a lead in his other hand.
I saw from a distance this dog had clocked me and little dog and was dragging the lad towards us, I’ve never seen a dog like it, built like a tank.
I thought to myself the worlds strongest man would have no chance against it.
We banned guns because people aren’t responsible enough to own a gun.
We absolutely should be banning pet ownerships (especially in large bully breed dogs which are known to be incredibly difficult to train/aggressive natured and capable of killing an adult human) unless they can prove capability to look after/train said pets.
So what dog breed was it then a pitbull or something. Anyone who owns a pitbull is at risk even if they’ve been raised properly.
I’m sick of this. I take my toddler to playground every day and there’s at least 2-3 staffys or bullys at any one time often without a lead with their massive balls bouncing around. One has a muzzle but the pink haired lady with a saviour complex literally had to jump with all her weight to pull the bully away from a lamppost it was sniffing.
I hate feeling on edge constantly trying to use a communal public space with my kids. One parent takes her bully on nursery run with her two small kids un muzzled and can barely control it.
People keep insisting on having these horrible things. They need banning all together.
Dogs eat meat. Keeping large dogs and not feeding them properly, especially a breed that is raised to hunt other small animals is asking for trouble.
I live on the top floor and constantly get trapped in the lift with a (tiny) girl and her unbelievably buff staffy (without a muzzle of course). Sometimes she asks before getting in the lift if she’s going home but not when she’s going out. Is there any polite British way to avoid this at all? Thought about emailing the concierge to tell her to at least put a muzzle on but that feels very karen.
I wonder what breed of dog it was. Because it’s definitely the way dogs are trained and not because everyone keeps buying certain breeds of dog that were bred specifically for aggression and dog fighting. I’m sure it’s just as likely that these dogs were golden retrievers rather than the breed that is in every dog attack news story in the UK.
Before Staffies get lumped into this, I just want to point out that a male Staffy should be at the most 41cm at the withers and 17kg – which if you measure it is much smaller than you’d think. Most of these dogs you see that are described as Staffies are done so to flout the pit bull ban in the UK. They’re similar looking so it’s an easy way to avoid the penalties. Unfortunately it means many mutant ‘XL bullies’ are not being accurately reported!!
American pit bulls… I think we all suspected that or similar before the dog breed was made public

This is happening far too often i the UK it was only a few months ago a Rotherham woman was killed & her partner was left with life changing injuries from their pet American bully xl. https://www.itv.com/news/calendar/2022-07-19/dogs-to-be-destroyed-after-owner-mauled-to-death

According to [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-63129095) 16 minutes ago: Five American bulldogs inside the property were handed over and have since been humanely destroyed.
Hm, I wonder what breed the dogs are. Surely golden retriever.

A petition calling for the banning of Bully XL’s; please sign and circulate if you feel strongly about the issue.
