I was watching the most recent Atomic Shrimp budget meal video and he mentioned another unfortunate side effect of this is that it has also greatly shrunk the discounted sections in supermarkets than many people on the breadline probably relied on.
However the issue should be solved at the root of the problem, rather than rely on supermarkets unnecessarily throwing away food.
I’d love to see the ceremonial closing of the last food bank, due to lack of demand.
Still do my part of “donating” food items in the foodbank bit of some stores directly from the shelves.
Not surprising, I saw food banks getting worried with this change. Will be on the government now to make the difference/change of the drop of food they’ll need and more people and needing to go to food banks as well.
