Liz Truss has U-turned. Will it be enough?

  1. Doesn’t matter, the hedge funders have made their profits. Job done……..god, I’ve become so cynical.

  2. She looks older by the minute.

In answer to the question: if her political goal is still more austerity and trickle down while prospective Tory voters are getting hammered on their mortgage payments, then no – she is toast.

  3. Until she reverses most/all other aspects of the Kwasikami-Trussonomics; no.

Anyway, the deed is done. Her employers made serious money in the crash.

  4. A lot of right wing commentators have been trying to call this “democracy by media” as if media pressure is the only thing that pushed them to u turn.

They don’t deserve any credit for not going through with this.

The fact they presented a mini budget at all to try and bypass scrutiny, then decided to give it two months before so much as looking at any kind of forecasting or impact reports means they shouldn’t have the jobs at all.

  5. Liz Truss is the Patron Saint of not having a clue. Not only that, she is unable to convince anyone of anything.

She was a very bad choice for Conservative leader.

  6. Imagine building your political career on a Maggie LARP and managing to swindle party members into making you Prime Minister, before doing an immense U-turn less than a month into the job.

Seems like some ladies *are* for turning, right Lizzie?

  7. U-turn. Why not call it what it is, a reconsideration based on unforeseen negative impacts. Why give a positive move a derogatory term? The public is so dumb for lapping this shit up.
