Well.. it probably is not for drinking water.
Try to put a candle into it, tho. Could be pretty.
Pour in wine and drink 😀
Use the opening above handle as straw, you have to cover all other openings – depending on the type there could be a hidden one.
Probably just a decorative jug meant to be shown, my grandma has similar pieces all over her house as decorations… Maybe you can use it for flowers as a vase or put candle in it (maybe those lights will make a nice lighting)
This mug has probably pretty high value… It looks nice.
Edit: In which country have you bought it?
I do believe it is meant as a decoration only
When I was a kid i was in a kids camp that went on a excursion to pottery in Modra. At the end they gave us same jug filled with water and told us to drink out of it without spilling it over us we gave it a shot and all got wet. If I recall correctly it is a prank jug or so we were told. I think you can use one of those holes at the top as a straw but don’t tilt it too much.
It’s great thing to prank your friends with.
this is the nalejvačka syflu na chleba
It is a decoration, there were no colors suitable for use in the food industry, and the jug will be damaged when filled with water.
My grandmother sold them in the store in , I have a really nice collection in the garage.
As someone living in modra it is from slovac folclore majolic https://www.majolika.sk/. This should be mainly for decorative purpose. There is one hole hidden under handle that you have to cover up in for it to work. And you can show off front of the friends. In the bottom there should be inicials or signature of persone that made it. If you could send picture of it i might be able to tell name
Ohhh…the prank jug.
It’s a native bongo originated in Čičmany
That’s basicly just a decoration
I would use this for dry bouquet, made of poppies, meadow flowers & stuff.
