Leaving nationalities aside for a moment, it seems utterly nonsensical and callous to have them there for several months and now uproot them after children have settled into school and some adults have found employment. Starting them from scratch again in Mayo.

We as a country are getting fucking played like a bunch of twats. If I did this carry on destroying passports on route to australia they would put me in the next flight back to dublin

Why can’t the other refugees simply be sent to Mayo rather than playing musical chairs with peoples lives ? Did someone in Westport not want them there for some reason ?
I don’t mind Ukrainians as they genuinely need the help but Non-EU refugees that would get rid of their passports and IDs are just taking an advantage and should be sent back to the country that they arrived from.
They need to work on this because if they don’t then over time you’re going to have far-right groups becoming more frequent and popular.
Foreign NGO ships that linger off the coast of Africa and scoop up any small groups from boats and ship them to European ports should be along with the traffickers, Charged with human trafficking and their funding should be checked out to see what international groups are funding them.
Well, I had absolutely no problem with the women and children or even elderly men but why do we have male asylum seekers. Should they not be fighting or conscripted?
So basically genuine asylum seekers fleeing a warzone gave to make way for military aged men from Albania, Georgia and Nigeria which have no warzone and its just economic migrants taking the piss.
Send these men to the ukraine. Cannot explain themselves to the ukranian men. Sure they will be understanding

Australia sends them to Nauru, which stops migrants attempting to get in because they know there’s feck all to do there in a tiny island in the middle of the ocean. If I went to oz and ripped up my passport, I’d be deported!!
Here’s me working away to live, if you thought you could rip up your passports and move to a first world country with free accom and food by ripping it up.. Would you do it? I’m homeless if I don’t work as I’d lose my house.. And no Irish government would care or support me properly as we all can see with the current crisis. Its so sad and wrong.

Also, Killarney… One of the most expensive towns in kerry and Cork.. Let’s send migrants there to work and live and pay for costs. Wtf?! Why not any of the other towns where they can live cheaper, easier to afford to live and cost of accom is lower?!? (yes I know some are in Caherciveen.. any other towns. )
Also, getting a rental in Killarney over this is impossible. Please house Ukrainians but don’t make it impossible for locals to live in the area due to no housing now. That’s what’s happening.. Barely even a room for rent.
My friend was in the town centre earlier today, apparently there was a bunch of non-irish guys catcalling and blowing kisses to women and children 😶 Coulda just been a coincidence but… Guess I’m never going out alone again 🤷🏼♀️
why not keep them in kilarney where they have jobs and are filling job vacancys in the town?, the tourist and hospitality industry has been struggling with a staff shortage and these people are ultimately filling it as they try to rebuild their lives
