I see these articles every few months it feels. Can someone tell me what’s actually realistic at this stage?
Yes please Sturgeon.
The real problem on the independence is Westminster cove of the corrupted privileged Tories…
>Ms Sturgeon added that re-joining the EU would enable free travel across the UK and 27 member states
She does know they would need to put up a border with England if they joined the EU right ?
Sturgeon is like a broken clock. She keeps repeating the same things over and over again.
If you think the UK is doing a bad job (we all do), think about how badly Scotland on its own would do. Scotland seems to barely tag along within the UK, and the devolved administration relies heavily on support from the other regions to the point you have to doubt they could make it on their own.
The timeline for independence and rejoining the EU is probably one of 10-20 years, and nobody knows what will happen in the meantime. Hell, the UK might join again by then.
She doesn’t care about the EU at all. She will say whatever she has to in order to get sympathy for her ultimate goal: Break Scotland out of this union. At any cost. Her problem is that even Scots are hardly convinced by the current arguments in favor.
Nicola looks at Irish trade problems and all the problems cause by cutting off your biggest trade partner and thinks to her self “I’ll fucking do it again”
Wishing them luck!
Scottish Independence 2023!
And would be rejected as Scotland doesn’t meet EU fiscal rules since it has a 9% deficit.
Also, any new members must adopt the Euro and the SNP still hasn’t clarified whether Scotland would adopt the Euro or keep the pound.
And they would be very welcome …
Maybe that should be a choice for the electorate, after the vote for independence.
A vote Yes isn’t a vote for the SNP, it’s for Scotland. Remember.
Scotland going independent is financial suicide, their main trading partner is England and having a border with them will just bankrupt the nation.
