When you think about how bad the climate crisis really is, in that it might genuinely kill billions of people, and you see how little is being done for it, then these desperate actions make sense. I’m not sure how effective they are, but I can sympathize with their need to do *something* about the situation.

It genuinely makes me question people’s intelligence when I hear people say “Well those idling cars are polluting more so the protests aren’t helping.” It’s such a chronically idiotic thing to say that it makes me question whether I over-estimate where the statistical median is for critical thinking skills for human beings.
