What are these? I’ve seen them a lot whilst hiking. Look like some sort of ventilation for an underground space but I’m not sure

  1. Yes. They absolutely are.
In fact it‘s an infantry entrance and sortie hatch.
Most likely, there is a vast vault underneath somewhere near.
Probably attached to a secret hangar for our air force.

Everybody who says otherwise just wants you to be confused about our defense abilities.

  2. Those are underground water fountains. Those kids are for oxygen and other gases to freely flow from down there to the surface.

Edit: the Swiss are much sophisticated and are easily able to hide their bunkers so foreigners wouldn’t notice them until they are hit with artillery.

  3. There are some small bunkers that have entrances similar to this. But I think those are all old (20 years +). Some even older. I had the chance to visit one some time ago where a small mortar has been installed once. Beside the shaft where the gun was, there were around 10 beds in a very cramped room. Nothing else…
As this one in the picture looks newer, i’d guess on an entrance of a water reservoir or even just an air vent..

  4. These are reservoirs of ground water…
You see the red protector pipes of the piezometres in the background.

  5. We have lots of tunnels for trains and they have escape hatches. Bunkers and military things are here camouflaged. However I did see a huge man Werwolf run through my garden once. Not a bear or wolf as it flattened the garden shed held up from four scaffolding polls. They were bent 90 degrees to the ground.

  6. This is one of the many entrances to the hidden canton of atlantsch, only accessible by the true swiss. They dislike foreigners. Take the inmidiate right and go as far as the hallway goes after going down the ladder and you will find the headquarters of the SVP, and one door further right will be the Liga Ticinese HQs

  7. you did it, you have found the hidden location where they seal the appenzeller cheese recipe. Unfortunately you will be starred down for your entire life now by an angry appenzeller all farmer as reward.

  8. I’d say water supply. Fences can be to protect the quality of the water. Not sure though
