I saw that we have this device in our building so I was wondering, if the water we drink from the tap is safe?
Not sure what that is, but you can drink water in any building here lol.
You are in Europe mate. You can drink all the public water you want.
Why not? The picture is of a water softener that takes some of the hardness (calcium and magnesium) out of the water.
This is probably used for decalcification.
No offensive: do not think the question is a little stupid…?
Of course you can drink your tap water. This machine softens your water. Hard water can clogg pipes, coffee machines and your shower head etc. This machine helps to prevent that.
Bro, you can drink all the water in Europe. German and Swiss water is considered one of the best in the world
Man, mods really need to stop those non-sense questions
Theoretically you can. The machine on the left adds psychoactive compounds into the water to sustain Swiss integrity. It has been developed in a secret lab in Herrliberg. Consumption may lead to uncontrollable Aromat addiction or the urge to download Twint. If taken in excessive amounts, it can cause you to hold seminars about the seven thinking steps and what to do when the „beamer“ breaks down.
This is like a Brita filter in your water supply.
If you live in a region where the water flows through limestone the water is very hard (rich in calcium). Remove some of that and you need less detergent and your tea tastes better.
I don’t know. I’m not from Europe so I always filter the tap water here before drinking them. The way I see it is that, the tap water is totally fine to drink them directly. But in the end it’s hard water, which may or may not benefit your kidneys. If you like, you can either filter it before drinking, or you can boil it, which precipitates the dissolved minerals out and makes it soft water and then drink it.
For me I always filter it even when I’d like to boil it, because then i don’t have to clean the Calciumcarbonat in my boiler.
In Switzerland you could drink out of the toilet, if you want to. We flush with drinking water
Ye dude Switzerland has hard water with very few microbes. You don‘t need to worry anywhere in nearly hole europe my guy. Especially german speeking country…. At the moment.
I hope you‘re not mad at me but to make it easier for me to explain I will use german:
Das ist eine Enthärtungsanlage. Die benutzt den Salt aus dem rechten Container um das Wasser von Kalk und anderen Mineralien zu befreien die sich sonst absetzen würden. Je mehr Kalk das Wasser hat desto „härter“ ist es. Du kannst ja den Deckel aufmachen und dort solltest du Salz drin sehen, ABER DU DARFST ES NICHT PROBIEREN!! ES IST NICHT DIE ART VON SALZ DIE DU SCHLUCKEN KANNST!!!
Why shouldn’t you?
If you are living in Switzerland, you can drink tap water everywhere
Simple question: You have heard that the quality is high around here. How did you expect it to be like that without filtration devices?
