I for one absolutely love her, she was kind and caring, during WWI (which was a hard time for everybody but especially for us as we lost our capital and were almost obliterated) she would visit the military hospitals and took care of the wounded, she and King Ferdinand the First took care of our country in one of our hardest moments and managed to reunite Transilvania with the rest of the Kingdom of Romania(at the time). So yeah, she’s dear to us.
Not only did her involvement in political and social causes have a tangible impact (whether through her actions as a Red Cross nurse for Romanian soldiers or by attending the Versailles Conference to support Romania’s cause), but her general love for Romanians, a people to whom she didn’t even belong by birth, is something you will not find nowadays among any of our current “statesmen”.

Mama Răniților
A blessing for romanian people from that age
based queen
People on this sub are too busy posting about what they do on the toilet to care for such trivial things
She was the reason we have Transilvania.
You will get a good idea by watching the movie about her life and involvement in the WW1 peace talks. She was instrumental in securing support for the reunification of all Romanian lands.
She is very well regarded, maybe even better than her husband. She was very popular during her time and the sentiment was passed on to the younger generations.
Who?
She visited the orphanage where my grandfather (born 1911) was housed after losing both parents during WW1. This was one of his most cherished memories.
O femeie cat 10 care a facut mai mult pentru altii decat pentru ea.
Never heard of her, am I supposed to care?
I think all Romanians who know her and know what she did as Queen will pretty much tell you they love and respect her. We have had few figureheads in our history that showed great love and passion for the country and most importantly for serving it, she is one of them, and maybe one of the most loved because of this. I remember I cried the first time I read her testament, to be so devoted to your country its something all our modern leaders completely lack.
as one could see, monarchist propaganda rulez even on reddit. she was kinda diana, had a bunch of lovers, probably some of her children had different fathers. not a problem with a commoneer, bus as a queen not that fun. biggest problem was her pushing an unprepared for war romanian army to attack austroungaria in 1916. the idea was to divert german troops from the western front, and that indeed happened, crushing the romanian army fighting on two fronts. so a total defeat, exacerbated by the defection of russian troops during 1917 revolution. so romania was obliged to sign peace w austria and germany and the royals slept on their asses in a tiny region, untill general Berthelot, the french military expert assigned to help romania, warned them that versailles treaty and ww1 end was imminent. a total mess, huge losses both for the military and the poor civilians. but hey, many pics with her dressed as a nurse and stuff. downvote now
“After refusing a proposal from her cousin, the future King George V “she was sent to Romania. She went to Paris gave a BJ and received in change Transilvania.
