When you compare today to the mid-90s, there is an undeniable improvement in living standards across the board. The rate of violent offences is less than half of what is was during the peak in the mid-90s. Infant mortality rate has also halved. The number of children experiencing poverty has significantly declined. A much larger proportion of the population are university educated. Life expectancy has increased by more than 5 years.
I have absolutely no idea why people continue to believe that the 90s was a better time than today. It simply wasn’t. It was much rougher back then.
