Dang nabbit, I read that headline as ‘trust’ and thought to myself that there was some advice I could get behind 🙁
All the intelligent, talented, and genuine Tories were remainers. They have been swept aside by the swivel eyed loons. The likes of Rory Stewart, who just washed his hands of them, are even supporting centrist Starmer. There is no talent left who is capable of high office. The Tory Party is now controlled by Brixit idiots and they’ve painted themselves into a corner. They’re not even The Conservative Party anymore, they’ve lost sight of their traditional values, and have been overtaken by the right wing, and corportate greed. The likes of Rees Mogg have been The Phantom Menace, and destroyed them from within.
The tories are just hanging on to their breeches and know any election will force them out. The narrative they so desperately need is one where another 2 years is actually warranted at the moment.

Wondering if he’d be towing that line if he didn’t just get the exchequer job. If Truss is exited and or the Tories, he will be out of a job and replace Kamikwasi as the second shortest exchequer. Adding to the chaos.
The Tories have a major problem on their hands and everyone knows it.
They can’t let Truss lead them into a General Election because it would be a total annihilation for them. They can’t force her out the conventional way because of their own rules. If they change the rules to force her out they’ll be accused (rightly so) of being un-democratic and pressured into a GE. If she resigns they’ll almost certainly have to go to a GE; which they would lose extremely badly.
Sooner or later they will have to go to a GE. They can’t appoint a second unelected PM. They need to face the music and accept that no matter what they do they are completely and utterly fucked for the next GE. Any more ultra risky moves or massive blunders risks them throwing away the next two GEs at least. The best they can hope for is to be the opposition party and to use that time to rest and recalibrate the party. If they don’t they’ll be unelectable for a very long time.
Then Labour should push for elections. This is discrimination
Lizz Truss and Kwasi should be held responsible.
If anything another first for her ‘Prison’..
For successfully ruining the economy.
