Well here’s for hoping the toothless pricks tax the companies who are squeezing us and stop blaming everything but the said money grabbing companies forcing up the cost of living
Austerity is often harmful to the economy and to growth.
Not sure whether the Tories don’t know this or just dont care because the harm to the poor is the point.
> But if tax hikes and spending cuts hamper growth significantly, then austerity could be ill-advised. Indeed, if the fiscal multiplier is really, really high in certain situations—such as during a downturn—then austerity could prove counterproductive. Those higher taxes and severe spending cuts will cripple growth so much that the nation will end up with an even bigger deficit than it started out with.
Some because of Tory maliciousness we now have to cut spending even more? Lovely.
Until next week, when he’s sacked and it’s someone else’s turn.
Uk Redditor warns of increased crime waves in the years to come….
What would happen to the economy if everyone paid a higher tax rate ? ( Genuine question) . If tax is any governments main source of income then that needs to be acknowledged by politicians and the public alike. I am naively thinking of the country and its finances in the same way as you think about your household budget.
We cannot give ourselves a pay rise but ,I guess, governments can. What are the main pros and cons of tax rises in the long run ?
I feel like screaming “WHERE IS THE MONEY LEBOWSKI”
Seriously where did all the freaking dough go? 6th richest economy in the world and not many public services actually fulfil their role…
This is what everyone was asking for, wasn’t it?
They wanted that mini-budget reversed, didn’t they?
