Let me just go to my dictionary and see what a moratorium is.
Moratorium: a temporary ban of an activity.
“He says it would run until “the end of March” – and then be discontinued. Asked if it was a constitutional breach of homeowner rights to introduce such a measure, **he said those rights are subject to the common good** – they are not absolute rights.”
Probably what the AG opinion hinges on. Constitutional right to property vs common good argument for making laws to circumvent this.
Its a ban on evictions, in all but name.
We’re not stopping evictions, what we’re going to do instead is stop them from initiating the process of evicting a tenant.
Sure we didn’t bail out the banks either. Fucking clowns, do they really think we’re this fucking stupid?
So what’s the difference? Evictions already in train/working their way through the process would be able to continue but nothing new, is that the idea?
Whats the issue here?
This was done during covid. Just use the same instrument they used then.
Half arsed measures from our government? NEVER!
Should those TDs who are also landlords be able to participate in any vote related to this?
How anyone trusts that fat-headed frog is beyond me. He should be in prison for illegally passing information. But the police only care about 13 year old joyriders.
They’ll find a way for it to increase rents, somehow
