‘I want to be honest, this is difficult’: Liz Truss confirms U-turn after sacking chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng

  1. It was difficult listening to her talk, umm her way through press names and then dart off before really saying anything

  2. What a fucking dumpster fire. That was very awkward. She just repeated the same answer to every question and then ran off! 😂

Is this really the best we have to offer for a PM? FFS!

  3. PM’s notes while taking questions:

    ‘ECONOMIC STABILITY’

Even among politicians, what an utter master of speaking a lot while saying nothing.

  4. I don’t know what the point of this was. There was NOTHING of substance said, even by politician standards.

  5. What in the hell is a democracy when a lame duck Prime Minister can waddle off the stage like an angry child in the face of pressing questions regarding our democracy, financial policies, and her own ability to perform her duties in a democratic manner.

That was the worst ever press conference by anyone I have ever seen and I honestly now wonder if she was actually told to get off stage somehow (by an earpiece) as that was beyond David “gone missing mid-question” Cameron.

Is this some kind of cooky experiment or power struggle that some quango is performing to see if they can get a PM sacked remotely? Is it a plot to get Boris to follow his idol’s lead (Churchill), and be asked to come back to power?

What in the Tory is going on here? This surely can’t not be by design as a delegation of their core party members actually signed off on this person, who Cummings once described to be “the human hand grenade”.

She is certainly living up to that moniker.

Either she was pulled off, she got off out of embarrassment, stormed off because people dared question the PM, or she got off for a good old outburst….

In any of those events, a PM is expected as a part of the job to perform these duties of state.

That presser just looked an absolute state. She looked a complete state. She looked, at first, maybe out of her depth or needed bedding in perhaps, but now she looks just unfit to govern.

That was all flight with no fight and all she basically said was that she sacked her chancellor and now Jeremy Hunt is chancellor.

Fully expect Jeremy Hunt as the new PM. He’s a cunt and was rather shifty as Health Secretary and dropped nurses right in it. That’s a weird installment and one I think she had no hand in.

Yet, isn’t he seen as more of a “Conservative right-to-middle grounder?”… Or have I got this wrong? Is he a Tory really, and pretended to be a right-to-middle-grounder conservative exactly because he was health secretary?

  6. If a budget is defeated in the commons then it is convention to have a change of government. How is it that a budget getting defeated before it even reaches the house not treated the same?! We need a new constitution.

  7. That was so hard to watch. She really sounded like this was ‘difficult’ as a BBC commentator said it best right after, she sounded more irritated than anything. So monotone and within a few sentences from the beginning already saying this is because of Putins war.

The clear cherry picking of questions was painful to watch as she struggled to think of who may give her an easier time. Telegraph and The Sun first? Only after she realises she should get some questions from the BBC and I think at the end it was Peston from ITV(?) that absolutely destroyed her and she closed the questions after barely 4 questions

  8. Awful performance, she didn’t answer any of the questions and just repeated the same thing 4 times. Totally out of her depth.

  9. It won’t last long. The questions after the announcement where a train wreck. She was flustered from start to finish. And still took no responsibility herself.

  10. Can she fucking sack herself and call a GE I don’t want the next Tory cunt to ruin the country further

  11. Running out of the room to shouts of “Aren’t you going to say sorry?”

Yes, absolutely positive this is going to sort everything out…

  12. She only gave one answer, and it was insane.

She keeps using the words ‘growth’ and ‘stability’ interchangeably.

    They’re fucking antonyms, you cockwomble.

  13. That ‘press conference’ was so cringeworthy I was praying for someone to wheel a fridge along for her to hide in

  14. If doing the most logical thing is difficult then she needs to be removed as she’s so unbelievably out of her depth the thick cunt.

Also needs to stop banging on about her energy intervention because she sounds like a fucking soundboard.

  15. My cat could have sat on the podium and used it as a scratching post and done a better job addressing the country. What a fucking shambles.

  16. After that speech I can hear the sound of countless belt Sanders as the Tories get their footmen to sharpen the knives.

Embarrassing for the leader of the country, I can’t decide if I feel embarrassed for her or by her lots of both really.

  17. There’s just some wee thing upstairs clearly wrong with the woman. It’s kinda painful to watch her in action, it’s the cringe feeling that gets you with her. Surly the Tories could put her out of her misery and sack her

  18. Her propositions are just so incoherent at this point. She spent ages talking about low taxes and cuts to services being necessary for growth. Now barely a week later she’s not just dropping those plans, she’s talking about doing the complete opposite.

So what the fuck is going on? Does she just genuinely think the *desire* to grow the country is some crazy new innovative idea that no one else has come up with yet or something? Everyone wants the country to grow, the detail is in how exactly that is going to be made to happen. If she can’t wrap her head around such a simple concept then she really is not fit for the kind of high level of public office she has held for years. Genuinely just so fucking embarrassing all round.

I know many of us have already realized Tories have a humiliation kink and it would be wrong to shame but *bloody hell* even they must be feeling a bit rough with how all this has gone in such a short time.

  19. The amount of U turns she’s doing she basically just doing donuts in the Westminster car park

  20. YES BEING THE PRIME MINISTER IS DIFFICULT, YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO DO THINGS, I KNOW THIS IS A NEW CONCEPT FOR YOU LIZ, BUT JUST GIVE IT A TRY.. or actually…dont? 🙂 maybe just piss off? yea that sounds good
