Considering the car park was previously free for everyone, it seems incredibly poor form to charge for workers parking.
Surely overlooked and should be fixed ASAP that’s shocking. Give workers permits or block an area off with a barrier for staff.
It’s a pretty poor shopping centre even without the added cost of parking imo. Blanch up the room offers more choice and free parking wonder will they see a drop in customers

This is a stupid money grabbing exercise. The whole reason people went to massive shopping centers outside the city was free parking. There’s other centres that are still free and people will just go there. If you have the option of Penneys blanch with free parking or Liffey Valley for €2.50 where will you go.
I worked in Liffey Valley years ago. Back then parking was free.
The shopping center was still a kip.
And Dublin bus showed up whenever it wants to.
Not much has changed except now they charge for parking.

Similar was attempted in the north at the Abbey Centre.
Ended up cancelled after the unions got involved- terrible public transport links, staff not able to afford to park all day or pay for a taxi home when finishing up at 9:30 and there were no buses.

Theres a staff carpark round the back of the green one, surely theyll maintain that for just staff and give them access passes or whatever

Liffey Valley is well served by public transport. No one needs to drive to work at Liffey Valley. What’s wrong with people in this country.

Okay seems like a lot of people commute 30 minutes by car to work in LV. I used to bus there in 15-20 minutes.
I’ve alway taken public transport or walked to work.
Maybe I’ve just been lucky with locations. Carry on 👍🏻

Don’t know if this is covered in the article but if the “designated” staff car park is full staff will have to park in the customer area and pay 12.50. There is nothing stopping customers parking in the staff area too

I worry about how difficult the next few years are going to be in rolling back carbon if this is the reaction to removing free parking.
