So british people have now decided they are perfectly allowed to work in majorca as seasonal bar workers without a visa, exceptionalism as always 😂

  1. I find this entitlement so embarrassing, much like Brexit and all the ‘realisations’ people from my country have had since. All I can say is, this (hopefully) doesn’t represent the majority

  2. No one is hiring Brits without a TIE or the ‘old’ green residencia, for shiiiiiiiiit. Why would they?!

  3. As a Brit who is here working legally (arrived and registered way before Brexit happened) can I just apologise for all my compatriots who apparently only want rules to apply to foreign people who go to the UK, not to them when they go abroad. Fuck them.

  4. so the brits are serving booze and mopping floor in bars and clubs, so what? arent these bars in clubs owned by locals OR Brits, both of who pay their taxes to the Spanish authorities? so whats the problem

  5. Y’all should see who doesn’t pay taxes in the US! You’re worried about bartenders not paying taxes? Save your energy. That’s not changing your day, I promise.

  6. As a brit I can confirm that as a race we are arrogant, self important shits that believe we are better than the world. I hang my head in shame

  7. Bueno, si te contara yo de los españoles en el Reino Unido cobrando ayudas del estado de manera ilegal que conocí, y bien orgullosos del hecho! Excepcional ismo vale, pero no te creas que solo de los ingleses.

  8. I don’t think British people living here and working hard need to apologise for the behaviour of others. There are 68 million British people obviously some are cunts.

I don’t apologise for being British just like local Basque youths here don’t apologise for going absolutely nuts in Noja, Castro Urdiales or other coastal towns in Cantabria.

  9. As a Scot, the sooner we are independent, the better.
    This is total Brexit behaviour.

Keep a light on for us.

  10. Okay- maybe as an American English native I’m missing something here. But it sounds like it’s more of just “oh we could happen to do an interview and then you would need the permit.” The title sounds like OP is saying the chat instead says “work until you need the visa to stay in the country”? Not that I’m sure you could do an interview if you travelled for pleasure either.

  11. I have been through all this. We have a UK company and due to Brexit set up a Spanish company. This winter we have a massive workload so we contacted the lawyer that set up my work permit (I am Australian).

He basically said it’s not possible to get someone from the UK with out going through the same process I went through. So we would need to prove that it’s a specialized job and that we can find Anyone locally to do it. We just gave up and ended up finding some Spanish people and a few from other parts of the EU.

I think what’s going to happen is the bars and what not in magaluf, that I bet of alot of them already have workers been paid in cash, will continue to do this. Even if it’s illegal

  12. Good luck to those companies when the, inspector laboral and hacienda turn up. Other issues the employees may run into is health care if they get injured at work their holiday health insurance won’t be covering.

  13. As an ex legal resident, I hate these people. You can’t just turn up, you have to EARN your residency through tears of frustration while trying to get your NIE sorted.
You thought you brought all the correct documents!? Hahaha puny mortal, think again! Come back in a month!

    – I may be slightly bitter because where I lived was a completely unorganised mess. I know it’s not the same everywhere, but also it’s mainly in jest because if it were my choice I’d still be living in Spain, I miss it so much.

  14. So the good old ingleses left the EU cause they didn’t want to give foreigners equal rights. Mainly my compatriots Bulgarians, but also Romanians, Polish and other eastern europeans. Still they want to keep their privileges in the Eu. Talk about hypocrisy!

  15. Its embarrassing, these are the same people that dont speak spanish when they live here but compain about immigrants not speaking English in Britain.

And talking about immigrants, they love to call themselves Ex-patriots.. because ofcourse the work immigrant is for lesser off brown people.

Its embarrassing to know i was born there

  16. As a brit i really hate the entitlement and awful attitude that so many of my countrymen have. Voting to leave the EU and then being surprised at no longer being an EU country. Typical

  17. actually you need a working VISA and also a tourist VISA to stay 90 days, and that requires a vouching letter from an Spaniard(it will cost 80€ to the spaniard to make it), a residence proof and a ton of bureocracy…

  18. I feel a lot of people in here aren’t realising that most young people didn’t vote for brexit. You’re completely correct about the rules etc but this whole “HA, YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE VOTED OUT THEN” attitude is slightly wide of the mark because that was mostly sealed by older people.

Most young people here want freedom of movement and the ability to work abroad, and we’re just as angry about brexit, the older generations screwed us.

  19. I usually try to be open-minded but these are the kind of unadapted immigrants we can’t tolerate
