Luxembourg ditches Qatar 2022 big screen viewings

  1. I like the ecological reason! I bet that a big screen consumes less power than hundreds of individual TVs + lights at home…

  2. Good! But honestly public viewing in Winter is rather… shit. Who wants to be outside in the rain watching a football game held in 32 degrees?

  3. well, you can always come to Esch/Alzette, the inapt mayor has refrained from banning this public viewing shit.

  4. Cancel culture at its best. It would have been better to just show the matches (not the propaganda opening celebration etc) and promote diversity and free speech at the same time as a signal to the Qataris. Banning public viewings isn’t changing anything.

  5. All European countries should have completely boycotted it. 6500 workers were murdered by the world cup organizers.

  6. I fully support this. I won’t be watching any games.

I’m a passionate fan during the euros and world cup, but I will happily skip a year.

  7. I bet they would put the screens up if Luxembourg had qualified 😂🤣.

I mean fair play for not showing that time wasting, brainwashing tool that professional football is ( from which I can proudly say that I managed to quit some time ago) but this is just another hypocritical measure.

European nations now won’t publicly show the World Cup but of course will buy their gas 😂. They truly know about those so-called Human Rights in Qatar not like those Russians.
