  1. If you drop your keys in the wrong glass goblet you may come back and find your radiator has been flushed and a new timing belt added.

  2. adults only swingers club? i should fucking hope so… id hate to see a childrens swingers club open up anywhere

  3. Oh my God! That is disgusting! Where are these swingers clubs? And when do they host these awful parties? Y’know, so that I can avoid them…

  4. Pearl clutching bullshit, this country is so bloody puritan sometimes.

    >“If someone changes their mind about being there, and chooses to leave, they’ll be walking out into an empty industrial estate.”

At which point they’ll either get in their car and drive away or get in a taxi and drive away. Does this idiot think everyone is just walking there from the city centre?

  5. As I said over in r/Scotland

If consenting adults want to go and get their jollies on with other consenting adults, what business is it of anyone else’s?

  6. So what actually *is* a swingers club? Do you go there to actually have sex? Is that not illegal in some way? If it’s just somewhere for swingers to meet socially I don’t see how it’s any different to any other licensed premises that happens to be largely frequented by… I dunno. Goths. Lesbians. Bee keepers.

  7. As an ex swinger the community are not like this no means no, for almost a decade my wife and I did participate a lot and never once did we see nor here any badness

  8. I just looked up the proposed location of the club – it’s near to bus stops and a tram stop, has tons of free parking available and it’s not far from the airport so cabs won’t take long to arrive after they’re called (the club will have their own way of getting swinger friendly cabs too no doubt).

Methinks the reason this guy is objecting isn’t solely because of how difficult it is to get to/from.

I’ve been a swinger for many years and I’ve never, EVER seen someone struggle to get home at 3am in the morning after a trip to the club – let alone right after they’ve just arrived.

Rational people don’t make half a set of travel arrangements – they make a plan to get home too. Furthermore if some girl was dragged along to the club against her will like the councillor seems to imply will happen, I can guarantee the club will be full of people that will put a stop to that in short order. People in the scene and especially staff in clubs are usually well attuned to things that seem off and will step in if help is needed.

Just last week I was in a club in Newport and a girt got herself so trashed she had no idea where she was. Patrons pointed this out to staff immediately and the staff took to looking after her for the next few hours until she sobered up. Nothing bad happened to her besides the humiliation aspect, and she got a bunch of free toasties and bottles of water out of it!

On another occasion, I was at another club and a man dislocated his knee in the smoking area after a nasty fall and my girlfriend and I ended up being the ones to take him to A&E because the ambulance service was too busy to come and pick him up themselves.

Positive stories like this are very common, negative ones are so rare you’ll almost never hear them, and that’s even with the natural amplification that negative stories tend to get.

Swinger clubs, if you’ve never been, are actually surprisingly chill places. It’s usually just a bunch of people in their 30s and 40s set around talking about life and enjoying the fact that they don’t have to spend time with their kids for an evening. Yes, sex tends to be part of it as well, but it’s a surprisingly small part of the scene when you really get into it and usually it happens behind closed doors.

  9. Always wondered why they have to state that it’s ‘adults-only’ you’d think it would be pretty obvious what with it being a swinger’s club

  10. Behind closed doors I couldn’t give a heck what people get upto.

Most large cities have saunas men frequent to have casual sex a stones throw from shopping centres etc.

Let people do what they want.

  11. I am more concerned about the location. You want a swingers club in a nice log cabin, or a small detached 6 bed house.

Not in an industrial estate. That’s just weird.

  12. Whats the problem?

Consenting adults out of sight, causing no problems.

Nanny twat morality police trying to tell people what to do

  13. > However, Labour councillor for Sighthill Ross McKenzie said the plans should be looked at “very closely” due to the remote location of the site.

Why not go find something useful to do with your life, rather than trying to dictate what consenting adults do with their own time?
