Terrible. I´m not planning to use it.
I know that some onmine shops that I do use have negative overall effects. I am part of the problem. Amazon is next level though. They are just too big and could potentially swallow every competition.
Out of curiosity I checked the price for diapers. A package of 132x size 5 is 44.99 EUR on .be but 38.5 on .de (with Belgian VAT) and 32.73 if you do “subscribe & save” (not available on the Belgian one somehow).
Another one LEGO advent calendar (60352) ~17 EUR on .de and ~22 EUR on .be
That’s a fairly big price difference.
So, I looked through the items that I have ordered from German Amazon in the month or so and compared the prices with the Belgian site.
About 1/5 of the items were cheaper if I’d ordered them from the Belgian site. Though in all of these cases the difference was only a few cents…
The vast majority, however, is a lot more expensive on Amazon Belgium than when ordered from Germany. And by “a lot more” I mean often like 50% or even over 100% more.
So, for me that’s a “thanks, but no”.
They don’t even sell some of the items that are delivered within a day when you order from the German site because they’re stored in Belgium already.
And the prices seem to range from a few euros more to **double** the price of the same items on the German site. That’s *if* you can find the product on the Belgian site at all.
I’m impressed, but not in a positive way.
FYI. Use ‘SMILE10’ to get a 10 euro discount for any order from 50 euro onwards for items fulfilled by Amazon on the BE store.
Reading the comments here; looks like I’ve been missing out on Amazon.de. Have I been a fool for using bol.com all this time?
People have been using the German site? I’ve been using the NL one
I cannot see [Amazon.com.be](https://Amazon.com.be) without thinking “that is one sus looking weblink”.
FFS, I was having a shit day already and now this fucking shithole of a company with their total disregard for human rights is trying to exploit a whole new market?
Why THE FUCK are people stupid enough to still buy here?
I got an offer on [amazon.nl](https://amazon.nl) to migrate my prime membership to com.be. Is there any reason why I should do this? Will something change about the available shows on prime video or shipping times if I migrate? They are not very specific when I try to find the answer on their site.
Do they use the same UNBELIEVABLY shitty couriers as recently or managed to move back to bpost?
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck Amazon!
The person buying Amazon.be must be raging now. Fucked by big corporate again.
I have an Amazon Prime membership via the .de website.
Just logged into my account on the .com.be website and it doesn’t show me as a prime member…
EDIT: apparently you can transfer your account from one website to the other… why though? Why would I have to remove my membership on one website, just to get it on another? Shouldn’t this just be worldwide?
EDIT 2: Just read on their website, if you move your prime subscription from .de to .com.be, ***you cannot change it back to .de!*** Looks like a scummy way to get people on the more expensive site.
Meh i never used Amazon and dont think i will. But i gotta say that website looks ridicolous.
Yeah. We will still use Bol.com or retailers like Megekko.nl for computers / computer components.
And probably Collect&Go (or equivalent with another retailer) for the general goods.
Besides, I don’t think Amazon really needed to open a BE store. Probably some tax optimization going on there.
