Controversial white water rafting facility on Dublin’s George’s Dock has been shelved

  1. The Second Captains episode where they interview Owen Keegan is amazing. He comes across as an absolute prick.

It’s about a 30 minute interview and he spends 25 minutes either defending this ridiculous idea with unbelievable stupid statements (local young lads love to jump into the Liffey therefore they will love to pay for using white water rafting facility) with no clear breakdown of costs or how feasible it would be to run.

I think the longer they left him talk about it and throwing the odd question at him, gave him enough rope to hang himself.

  2. Really need to sort the Dock out, it looks so shit and really needs something to liven up the area. I’d go so far as possibly demolishing or refurbishing the existing offices into a more retail / entertainment zone around them as the offices are very dated.

  3. Would have been a nice feature for the city. Those involved in water rescue services will be devastated

  4. Good, fucking stupid idea anyway… god knows how much money has been wasted on it so far though.

The only disappointment for me is knowing the local scum won’t get the opportunity to fuck a box of washing powder into it and create a massive foam party…

  5. >Upwards of €2 million has been spent on this project

Straight away that’s €2 million pissed away with nothing to show for it.

  6. I could make a joke about this, but too many business are dying right now and DCC are proposing frivolous spending.

They are so disconnected from those paying rates.

DCC need to start cutting such wasteful spending.

  7. Shocking and appalling that we don’t have access to affordable white water rafting in this country. We need to amend the constitution to make white water rafting a right for all

  8. Why is this controversial lads there’s a similar thing at grand canal dock doesn’t seem to bother anyone
