Caught speeding 81 on 60, what can I expect as a consequence? cant find anything in particular for speeding over 16-24km. I can only find results for speeding over 16-20 and 21-24 as seperate categories.

    If it is 16-20 you will get a Verwarnung (and a fine).
    If it is 21-24 you can kiss your license goodbye for at least 1 month. (And a fine).

  4. Had once the same with taking away this nearly 8km/h i got a verwarnung and a nearly 2000sfr bill. Around 1200 for speeding “innerorts” and 800 for administration and “staatsanwaltschaft”.

    Sry my english I drove around 87 km/h on a 60 road and they took away around 8km/h so it rested 79 or 80 km/h

  5. Depending on where you got caught – in a town, outside of it or on a highway – you will get a high fine. But I wonder why you went 81 in a 60 zone in the first place. In my experience, it is usually 60 for a reason. Did you perhaps miss the sign?

  7. Depending on the camera model they will knock of some of the speed due to margin of error / configuration / measurement accuracy tolerance of the device.

    From then it’s tabulated.

    As for enforcing it, depends where you live, but Switzerland has reciprocal cooperation agreements with some countries (France / Germany / Austria / Netherlands), so it might follow you home, but most info is based on foreign drivers.

    As for the owner naming the driver, they will probably spend more to lawyer up and argue it than it would be to pay themselves or point the finger – it will also certainly increase court costs & could land them in more trouble.

    ….if it was that easy most people would just do that when they get a anything themselves.

  8. Are you sure you got caught with 81? How do you come to this figure? Just from looking down when it happened? Chances are that you are actually lower and “only” have to pay 240 bucks or whatever (depends on the canton I guess)

  21. Many years ago I accidental did close to 80 in a 60 (didn’t see the sign and was a new canton for me so didn’t know the area). Got a letter from a judge with a 400 CHF fine then received another 400 CHF administration fee and then months later another 120 CHF administration fee (most likely because I was living in a different canton)

  23. It depends on what “zone” they were driving in. Inside town /Outside town /High way

    Inner city 0-60km/h :
    Outside towns: 80km/h
    High way :120km/h
