Supposing you were a lazy chancellor and only interested in what your friends had to say, then you would probably come up with a budget like this one. Why try when your friends can decide your department’s policy for you?
“The company also warned about the “existential” risk posed by campaigners who threatened to stop paying their bills, saying it could result in a £265m loss per month across the energy sector.”
So the campaign does have power afterall despite all the naysayers.
What happened to ‘Don’t Pay’? Literally hundreds of posts in this sub then they disappeared. Odd bunch.
Sorry what does reducing the vat rate paid by eon’s customers have to do with “cutting its taxes”? It would be “cutting taxes paid by customers” but that’s not as baity a headline.
If the idea had been adopted, you, me and hardworking families would have paid less tax to our energy retailer (who then just passes it on to the government).
E.ON once took £1200 out of my account at the start of December without telling me. They obliterated my Christmas that year and I will never forgive them and I’ll never go back to them.
