  1. These sorts of articles are written up with the express intent of getting social media shares by a target demographic. It works as well, as anyone subscribed to /r/uk will know. Whether anything it talks about is likely to come to pass at all is irrelevant – see also the GBs worth of content published over the past few years about the virtual guarantee of no-deal Brexit and all the horrors that were moments away from occurring. Spreading discord is a big business.

  2. We are in no position to ask anything from the EU. We have treated negotiations like a joke, especially with respect to Northern Ireland, while the EU has done exactly as it said it would. Frankly, the EU has shown more than enough patience with is, far more than we deserve.

  3. This is like when an ex begs you keep her netflix profile on your account so she can watch shit for free.

Like bitch you must be outta your god damn mind.

You forefitted the right to tell me what to do when you left get fucked.

  4. OK UK go your own way.

We will. And it will be OUR way.

Well, we agreed to conditions, so apart from that we don’t care.

Well, EU our way means we can do what we like, when we like cause we’re big boys now.

Hey EU partners, these guys are pretty petulant eh.

That’s it EU – how dare you insult us – you’re only making it harder on yourself.

    Harder on us?

Oh yes you destroyers of the indomitable spirit – we are changing the NI Accords, – see, we are doing it our way. So F you.

Let’s talk first, there are consequences as a result of your unilateral actions.

You said, and we demanded, we could do it our way – this is what that means.

Not without consequences from breaking agreements.

Are you thick EU, don’t you GET IT? OUR WAY!!

Oh hi Uncle Sam. You not impressed with this puerile behaviour either? The UK will face consequences, you don’t say.

Hey Boris this reliance on our own interpretation of our rights is hurting the economy, hurting business.

    FUCK BUSINESS.

Relax Boris, ok we’ll go down the rabbit hole then.

Ah Begorrah, direct shipping to the EU, what a little earner that is. Thanks England, it’s really good for us that YOU insist on your freedom – as it makes ours all the more stronger.

  5. If only their was some kind of trade union which we could join which also had the benefit of freedom of movement and standardisation across regulations to make everyone’s life better. Wouldn’t that be great. Oh wait…

  6. The UK won’t initiate A16. All it would do is lead to more talks, albeit with more supervision. If the UK is found of improperly using of A16 or in breach of the withdrawal agreement, the EU could turn to the dispute settlement mechanism which includes an arbitration channel. If such a breach occurred, the EU can legally suspend parts of the WA and TCA. The EU could introduce unilateral measures of their own to cover the interim.

Phase 3 will start on January 1, phase 4 on March 1. [Link](https://business.gov.nl/running-your-business/international-business/brexit/brexit-the-border-operating-model/) Good luck with that.

The real wildcard regarding NI is the US. NI is one of the very few issues that has bipartisan commitment and support. [Link](https://www.menendez.senate.gov/newsroom/press/menendez-collins-colleagues-introduce-resolution-reaffirming-bipartisan-support-for-the-good-friday-agreement) Reading this, would it be unthinkable for the US to put boots on the ground in NI in order to protect the GFA and later agreements should the loyalists restart The Troubles? And if that should happen, what could the UK do?

  7. Wasn’t it only last week that the big boys in the EU were asking the UK not to start a trade war? lol whatever fits the narrative I guess.
