  4. Wat is de redenering hier? Heel simpel:

    Het feit dat die tentjes er staan en dat er asielzoeker in verblijven heeft potentieel impact op de waarde van de gebouwen er rond. Tevens gaan mensen de plaats misschien mijden, wat economische gevolgen heeft.

    Dat zijn de prioriteit van de staat.

  5. It’s shameful, heartbreaking and inhumane at all levels of government. This crisis is brewing the last 10 years. As a society we should handle these things as a good samaritan.

    what I see on the field is that NGO’s are doing everything to help, but are discouraged or boycotted by our governments.
    Also; as a policeman/woman, I would be disgusted and refuse to do this. Yes, you need to comply to orders, but some critical thinking would be nice. Don’t be a heartless robot.

  11. He can’t let kids sleep on the street. But he has no problem that hundred of foreign men are spending their day harrasing people and girls in rue d’aarschot.

  12. What a gigantic piece of scum. “We can’t tolerate people sleeping on the streets, so we destroy the little shelter those people still have”. How the fuck is someone like that a member of a “socialist” party? What’s his next solution, just bury those people so he doesn’t have to look at them anymore?

  13. Those children should be given “bed, bath and bread”, as is their right and our society’s duty. Our governments are horribly failing in that duty. NGO’s and non profits don’t have the means to help all of them properly, mind you those NGO’s and non profits shouldn’t be necessary in the first place. Those kids are given cardboard tents as shelter for lack of better options.

    What does the local mayor do? Order the police to destroy that little bit of shelter they have. So instead of spending money on helping those people, the mayor decides spending money paying the work-hours of police wasted on destroying what little shelter those kids have. “Because kids shouldn’t be sleeping on the streets.” (Despite the simple fact that they have nowhere else to go.)

    He’s literally making the very bad situation worse on purpose.

    Now, whether he brags about it or not, it’s still despicable to destroy these things without providing a solution to the problem yourself.
