The comments are quite interesting in that article, and I think I agree with a lot of them which is rare for me.
Good for him. It’s hard to justify violence, but when police aren’t controling or responding to these issues I can understand why people are taking into their own hands.
Amazing how quickly and easily he tracked the stolen bike down, makes you wonder how the police have such pathetically abysmal clear up rates unless you’ve actually had to deal with their incompetence and complete disinterest first hand after thefts and theft attempts.
The Police are fking useless, the only time you see one around here they’re in a car driving past. Kids on motorbikes and quads, drug dealers openly dealing from their doorstep there’s even 2 stolen cars parked in (separate) driveways with bins Infront of them so you can’t see the number plates. In the last 2 years literally every other house has had CCTV installed as a deterrent, it doesn’t work. The couple next door woke up one morning to find crossbow bolts embedded in the wooden cladding outside their baby daughter’s bedroom the police did nothing, 2 gangs of teenagers in the summers going at each other with knives and dogs for nearly an hour, the police didn’t even bother turning up.
> I just don’t get how you got from that to this vigilante behaviour. You had your family
What’s the redditism – tell me you’ve never been a victim of crime and police disinterest without telling me….
Really hard to find fault with the guy beyond the knife possession, and even that is understandable. Fuck the little cunt riding the bike and fuck the justice system which not only enables him, but punishes his fucking victims.
>Leicestershire Police were called to the scene and York was arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed weapon in public. At Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday he pleaded guilty to the charge.
Lol so these useless cunts actually acted out the meme in real life? Guy defends his own property from criminals and police turn up and arrest him.
Hopefully they’ll keep getting defunded until they don’t exist anymore, then innocent people will be free to go about their lives without worrying that protecting themselves will get them arrested.
>It’s not nice when somebody takes your things but what you did was beyond comprehension
Judges who are thick as pig shit shouldn’t be allowed to serve, how is she incapable of comprehending a man taking back his stolen property?
Honestly the police are just useless in this country
Its just astonishing
Let this sentencing serve as a lesson to you all. Cover your face and don’t get caught. The thief got nothing, the victim got 12 months in jail. In a just world, the victim would have stepped on the pedal a bit harder.
If you’re gonna do something, do it right.
He didn’t knock someone off a motorbike, he knocked someone off HIS motorbike!
If he didn’t have a machete then I would be on the vigilante’s side.
Utter disgrace if he goes to prison. Basically, the police, the law, and the government are on the side of thugs and criminals.
If you are required to take the law into your hands due to a police force’s ineptitude or lack of resources, make sure to cover your face and be as discreet as possible.
> The magistrates jailed York for 12 months and ordered him to pay a £187 victim surcharge. The chair of the bench, Fiona Tee-Boom, told York: “It’s not nice when somebody takes your things but what you did was beyond comprehension.
> “I just don’t get how you got from that to this vigilante behaviour. You had your family in your car, you were a part of knocking someone off a motorbike and then your children saw you do this.”
The UTTER NERVE of the CHAIR. HOW DARE THEY SAY THAT. HOW DARE THEY SIT ON THEIR HIGH HORSE AND SAY THAT.
What he did was perfectly logical. The police did not help. He lost his job. He had no choice. The gang is known to be violent. He had to take something for self-defence.
The Utter cheek.
Yeah his children saw it. They saw their Dad having to take matters into his own hands because the country cannot protect us.
He deserves no jail time, no fine, a suspended sentence at worst.
