And they were all very tasty, 100% would do it again.
Edit: dryshites.
It makes me desperately sad. We are literally an extinction event in motion. There’s a thin sliver of barely existing nature left. It’s literally down to tiny pockets of hedgerows. Everything is annihilated. China got its population under control by strict one child policies because they literally didn’t have enough land to grow food. Population was 2-3 billion after WWII.
We are at 8 billion these days close to 9. In 40-50 years time it won’t be beyond the realms of possibility the governments impose similar rules.
Hopefully we can save something for future generations
We need less humans on the planet using less resources. This report plus the fact that 50% of river waterways are destroyed is a hard pill to swallow in 24 hrs.
In before “I don’t care about the world dying because there is a housing crisis in Dublin”
Gotta get those numbers up lads, still 30% of the fuckers left.
It’s tragic.
Kind of surprised it takes us that long in fairness.
Yup. Seems about right
Humanity, fuck yeah.
It’s so sad going for hikes in Ireland. The forests are dead the fields are dead. There are so few animals around and bugs and birds. Tree lines are thin, very few thick forests at all. It’s all so managed and lifeless. And so many pointless scraps of land kept empty and devoid of life. We need a serious rewilding programme
According to David Attenborough, when he first started his career with the BBC in the 50s, there was an estimated 66% cover of wilderness on the planet. Today, that number is 30% and falling every day. He also made grim but very realistic predictions about the next couple of decades.

Humans, not such a great bunch of lads.
We really are like a virus devouring the best of nature. So depressing.
Speed run extinction, aliens are going to be so confused when they find our lifeless husk of a world.
I miss hedgehogs wandering in.
Y’see, news like this is a problem.
But the *real* big problem? Eveyone in the comments going “yeah, that’s terrible” and then going back to their hypercapitalist existance without making any effort to change it.
We need thanos
It’s mad to think the impact we have on the planet as the dominant species. I know a guy who’s a bit of a foodie, but any time he’s abroad he’ll try sample any adventurous local cuisine. He reckons he’s eaten a ridiculous amount of different animals, birds and fish. He’s proud of that fact and tells people regularly..
We suck sometimes
They need to curb human population growth as that is mostly what kills off these animals re less habitat for them to live in. Such as, in third world countries where they just can’t sustain their populations with adequate food, etc. I was just watching the misery of some war refugees in a refugee camp, they have been there for 8 years in a modern country that has contraception, yet as they complained about the camp and being stuck there, they had toddlers around them, a baby in their arms, etc. If conditions are that bad and you’re unemployed and living in poverty and contraception is available, why the hell would you have kids? Where is the logic? Most of them also had older kids from before the war started, so why have more?
Attitudes need to change and common sense needs to reign.
Fuck us
Everyone commenting how sad it is. Probably vast majority eat animals daily. But of course It don’t apply to them. Roll on the downvotes.
Animal agriculture is the main reason we’re experiencing such a rapid loss of biodiversity. No one needs to have more than 2-3 kids and no one needs to eat animal products every day (or at all).

I haven’t kept up with the more recent fear porn. Yes, we can always do better but it’s been 60+ years that we’ve been listening to these fear porn merchants.
This is devastating… We’re such parasites.
It’s crazy. Worrying stuff happening to our climate and ecosystems. I also think stuff like that Cloud Seeding technology in the UAE will have sever unforseen consequences
So many people agree that it’s awful, but so few do the simplest thing of all to help – stop gardening! If everyone with a garden grew natives, and stopped mowing, tidying, spraying, there’d be a lot more insect and bird life.
The planet will recover after most of us are wiped out. Then rinse and repeat.
