so, i just got two calls from an unknown number (no caller ID). the settings on my phone are such that any unknown number will immediately be hung up on. i subsequently got a text saying they left a voicemail, which, after i called voicemail, said the following:
[creepy EAS alarm noises, like in [this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xU0h8LS6uSg) video] “this is a national emergency alert (or something along those lines), important instructions will follow”, and then some more creepy ass noises, and then they hung up.
creepy as hell. but my question is, what the fuck is even the point of that call? is it a scam call?? what would the scam even be for? has anyone else have this happen to them? i’m freaked tf out

I can only the important instructions will be to wire over 150 euro via steam gift card, in orde to stop nuclear annihilation?
Last week they did a test if the system here.
Got a text, a call and a mail.
My wife got 2 texts, 3 calls and a mail
Safe to say we got the message.
Last year I got an EAS like call saying my national number had been detected during a cybercrime, and that “important instructions would follow”
Sadly for them I’m well aware that no company would simply ask to enter the national number and admit it publicly. I dropped the call and guess what “the police” never called.
Report as scam.
Do not open any links.
Block the number.
