Erdo: No, I don’t think I will.
In all seriousness why would anyone want to invade Finland?
Are you guys hiding alien tech or the cure for cancer, or perhaps big foot? There is no point to invading Finland, hardly anybody lives there, its cold and it has a lot of lakes and the Finns are chill people.
I’d say just leave it as it is.
Also who’s the “another adversary”, the reindeer??
Of course, as they should. We have really good Defence Forces so Finland being in Nato is really beneficial. You can cry all you want about it online but it won’t change the fact that we are going there, even tho Turri is trying to get something out of it.
The nature of that “action” is key. Of course NATO members would act just as they acted on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Even merely making a statement is “acting”. “We strongly condemn the military action against X”.
Stoltenberg isn’t talking about direct military involvement as in boots on the ground to defend Finland and Sweden. Providing military personnel and weapons for combat would be the strongest help. But even NATO’s article 5 doesn’t guarantee that:
>– will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith,
individually and in concert with the other Parties, such **action as it**
**deems necessary**, including the use of armed force —
So, even NATO members should have their own strong defense and be prepared for zero military intervention by others. In any case I’m not sure if many, or any countries will send troops to defend Finland and Sweden, but I hope they do should the need arise.
