Could easily say you go through a couple ounces yourself in a couple of months so you just get that every couple months. How many garda hours and finances go into failing to prohibit the use and sale of cannabis in Ireland? Would it be possible to find out the answer to that? Would they in a million years ever answer that question if it was put to them? Or the minister for justice?
How many extra garda on the beat or patrol cars does that amount to? How much quicker could they respond to serious antisocial behaviour or reports of violent crime? How much would the tax revenue generated by the legalisation of cannabis generate for investment in social services to intervene in a quicker, and better way, to prevent troubled children, or those in unhealthy situations, going on to become unproductive members of society or actual, real criminals.
This is madness, this craic, what they’re currently at. They’re at nothing and expending huge amounts of energy towards doing that nothing. And it’s over, look around the world lately, let’s not still be dumping energy into failing to prohibit cannabis like some obsessed gombeen island that’s legalising contraception decades after everyone else or getting the right to divorce in ninteen ninety fucking five again.
