I’m in favor of expanding Schengen, but only if the external borders are waterproof.
This is how you damage international relations. The Netherlands-Romania one may not be important overall, but people(eurosceptics), and not just from Romania will see this as just another dirty spot on EU.

Holland doesn’t have a Parliament. So they can’t vote on anything. The Netherlands does have a Parliament and they didn’t vote on any such thing in the last few days. Sophie in ‘t Veld seems to be mentioned and she is in the European Parliament not the national parliament. And she is very much on point most times, she is one of the few that goes after countries that a) don’t do what they promised and b) goes after countries that hollow out democratic values.

Probably more drugs are smuggled in EU through Netherlands than Romania.. just sayin’.. Obviously EU is split into 2 classes: rich and poor. The rich see Eastern Europe as a market for cheap labor and shitty, low quality product placement, while the poor will never be allowed to catch up with the rest of the EU. I’m pro European, pro EU and pro collaboration, but this xenophobic behavior has to stop.
How much of a monetary benefit would this be to the EU overall?
Hold your horses. The NL Parliament just asked their government for suplimentary investigations. They never said it’s a no go.
