I want to email my mp to show my support for a citizen’s initiative ( [https://www.kansalaisaloite.fi/fi/aloite/11377?fbclid=IwAR2d3V0SFBpuXI6zgHcWUFdaIlz5hwW9aigTf7eGYCBZmRbrwrd52oqZ\_30](https://www.kansalaisaloite.fi/fi/aloite/11377?fbclid=IwAR2d3V0SFBpuXI6zgHcWUFdaIlz5hwW9aigTf7eGYCBZmRbrwrd52oqZ_30) ) and for the life of me I can’t find out who it is 🙁
I’ve been able to locate the list of all MP’s, but it doesn’t say who represents which riding: [https://www.eduskunta.fi/EN/kansanedustajat/nykyiset\_kansanedustajat/Pages/default.aspx](https://www.eduskunta.fi/EN/kansanedustajat/nykyiset_kansanedustajat/Pages/default.aspx)

There is no such thing as your Mp, so pick one from your district and party that you could vote.
There’s not going to be a specific one. I guess anyone/everyone from your area is good to go for.
If by your member of parliament you mean single representative from you area (like in first-past-the-post voting systems like in US or UK) – there is no such thing in Finland. There are voting districts in parliament elections in Finland too, but multiple representatives (based on population) are elected from the same area using representative D’Hondt voting method.
You can contact the MP you like. Maybe someone from your voting district, from a party you support?
That’s not quite how it works in Finland, it’s not like e.g. in the US. The closest you can get is look up which members of parliament weour electoral district and from whichever party you happen to support.
(You can read how the parliamentary elections work in Wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elections_in_Finland)
Pick anyone, include a € 5,- note in the letter and voilá!
That’s your MP, you bought one.
I can only echo what everyone else has been saying here, that unlike in some other countries, Finland doesn’t have such specific electoral districts as in some other countries, and in their duties Members of Parliament oversee the benefits of the entire country and not only their specific constituents. However, of course MPs are much more likely to still be interested in hearing about issues that particularly affect the area they’re from.
It can help to too look at the list of MPs you sent which has already been divided for you into those 13 electoral districts. For example, if you’re in Tampere, you’re in district 7 – Electoral District of Pirkanmaa with 10 MPs. Once you’ve found your district, look at the Parliamentary Groups of the MPs from there, and choose one that is likely going to support you. Your citizens’ initiative is about the legalisation of recreational cannabis, so then look to the politically liberal left, like perhaps the Greens, Social Democrats, or Left Alliance. Once you find someone, you can google their name with key search terms and try to find someone who has voiced their support. By clicking their name on the aforementioned list you sent, you open the MP’s information page and can find their email, but it’s always in the format of (firstname.surname@parliament.fi).
Closest thing to “your MP” is the one you voted for. So shoot them a message
Your member of parlement? What are you, a multinational corporation?
