Can’t afford to join the EU, can’t afford to leave the EU?
‘In 2018 the UK government paid £13 billion to the EU budget, and EU spending on the UK was forecast to be £4 billion. So the UK’s ‘net contribution’ was estimated at nearly £9 billion.’
36 / 9 = 4. So it would take 4 years of further membership to equate to the same cost as the divorce bill.
The blame for how shit things are lies squarely with the Tories for instigating a stupid referendum and still beibg dishonest about it ever being a success.
Just a reminder, our track and trace cost almost the same amount, and we got more out of the EU than we ever did out of track and trace
Its Ok, the EU have got Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina lined up to replace the future hole in the budget
So going off the Brexit bus calculations, we’ll get our £350million a week for the NHS after two years……
What was all that about “We’re not giving you a penny” bluster.
I remember sitting in a pub when that was on rolling repeat on the news. Everyone was just rolling their eyes at the statement
On top of the money lost to the economy as a result of Brexit, as well as the damage to our reputation on the international stage. Still, I’m sure it will be all worth it one day. The likes of Johnson, Rees-Mogg and Farage would never lie.
What a waste, that could have paid for a whole track and trace system!
Yeah but half of that will go back to the NHS to improve the services and higher pay for nurses
