Taoiseach would like to see referendum on ‘women in the home’ clause in 2023

  1. So I’ve hated this clause all my life because it’s obviously sexist but now I’m wondering whether removing it is a movement away from the state supporting families (e.g. child benefit etc)?

I saw an article arguing that from a legal perspective years ago but can’t remember now who wrote it if anyone has any ideas?

  2. Could we not just have a big “modernising referendum” that gets rid of all this antiquated shit in one go?

  3. Ah yes, let’s focus on some meaningless words in the constitution rather than focus on the things that really matter to people. The old distract the electorate with this gender war bollocks.

They wouldn’t dare propose it be amended to give it meaning, or expand it to parents and caregivers now would they?

  4. How about also having a referendum on the issue of neutrality?

How about also having a referendum on the renationalisation of natural resources?

How about having a referendum on have been the number of non-EU migrants we let into the state,

the Taoiseach loves hanging fruit that he thinks will make him look if and popular but sidestepped the contentious issues that need to be addressed?

  5. Or we could focus on fixing housing, health and not banging the war drum of NATO before this..

Nahhh let’s got for the soft topic 👍🏼

  6. Going after votes he’ll never get . In reality it makes almost no impact , but he’s doing it to try and pander to the una mullally types
