I’m researching my brother’s family history (we have different father’s). I have a document I found on Ancestry that is in German and I don’t know what it is. Would someone be willing to look at it and tell me what it says? I really appreciate everyone’s time.

  1. It’s a death certificate.

The plumber Jakob Michael Schaefer, private in the supply battalion 532, catholic, died in a car crash on 03 June 1940. He died 10 km East or Hesdin (France).

He was born on 15 April 1898 in Godesberg am Rhein and his last address was Todernstraße 5 Hamburg.

His father was Jakob Schaefer, a tailor, who in 1940 was already deceased (died in Godesberg)

His mother was Anna Margareta née Rennenberg
