  1. >As a result of inflation in the early 1990s, the currency underwent redenomination. Thus, on 1 January 1995, 10,000 old złoty (PLZ) became one new złoty (PLN)

    Its just a date when… I this i do not know…

More info on bank notes [here](https://www.nbp.pl/home.aspx?f=/banknoty_i_monety/banknoty_obiegowe/200zl.html)

The date 25 March 2014 – referes to:

    >Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz signs a new series of banknotes. In total, 555 million new banknotes and 2 billion coins (produced at the State Mint) are created.

Edit: TIL first two digits of the banknotes serial number indicate the year of printing. Hence it is a 1994 banknote… impressive condition…

  2. It’s currently used currency, the year of production doesn’t matter.

  3. Nah it’s no good, I’ll buy it from you for 10 złoty tho 😉

Edit: (it looks legit to me, I hope you buy something nice with it)

  4. It’s in a very good shape for a 28 yo piece of paper. Imagine the distance it traveled to end up on Reddit.

  5. The date 1994 indicated the first the batch/series rather than the year of printing. In fact there are no banknotes with dates 1995-2011 so if anyone sells “old 1994 banknote” it’s likely a scam.

They are more rare today but it may well be a 2005 bill for all we know.

  6. yea, i wonder if it might even have slight collectors value? 1994 was in the middle of denomination, so its one of the oldest still valid banknotes

  7. All paper notes with the “old” (without the modern safety features) have 1994 written on them – it does not indicate age in any way. The only way to gauge that is to look at the serial number (DI9411123 in this case) – the “lower” the letters and numbers, the older the note.

  8. All older design PLN banknotes bear 1994 date. Because that’s when their emission started. And they’re valid.

There also exist updated designs, but they look similar to the old ones (security features are updated). Also valid. And they also bear dates of their emission start (2012 and later, depending on face value)

200 zł new design started being printed on 2015, so your banknote may be as new as march 2015. And it’s worth 200 PLN.

I don’t know why the notes don’t bear printing date, but they just don’t.

  9. send for detailed verification and CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY ™ from real polish human and 3 digits from the back of your debit card

  10. Nope, but you can send me this and I will exchange it for a coin “2zl”. It is a little more worthy for the collectors but it’s value is going down fast.

  11. ask in store to give you 200 in four 50 notes and its not you’re problem anymore.
