Hi, we are **Ella** u/Ella_from_EDRi and **Chloé** u/ChloBemy (European Digital Rights), **khaleesi** u/d34n3rys (CCC Germany) and **Konstantin** u/KM_Digitalcourage (Digitale courage – Germany).

We launched the European campaign [StopScanningMe](https://stopscanningme.eu/en/) which calls on the EU’s main lawmaking bodies, the European Parliament and the Council of Member State governments, to stop EU attempts to scan almost every move we make online.

**In 2022, the European Commission proposed new rules with the noble intent to protect children. However, this law allows authorities to have anyone’s legitimate conversations monitored. The law also threatens to fundamentally undermine end-to-end encryption.** That’s why we are asking that the EU rejects the Child Sexual Abuse Regulation (CSAR) proposal and instead focuses on solutions that will actually be effective to protect children online.

We all benefit from freedom and privacy to explore our identity, shape our futures and build communities where we can thrive. We all need safe spaces, especially in insecure situations. No one can be protected by making the internet less secure.

We’ll be here from **13hrs CEST to 18hrs CEST on Friday the 21st October** to answer all your questions. Ask us anything about the CSAR law proposal, the #StopScanningMe campaign, the faulty solutions behind this draft law and the broader attacks on encryption worldwide.

  1. its already done guys. your campaign would never prevent states from tracking and scanning you secretly. at least it would be done officially afterwards. the only thing i would like to see is a warning before users register or login to certain messaging apps that they are scanned by govs.
