There is truly no weirder group of people on this app than the lads from here who think themselves to be military strategists. All day everyday spent on here talking about Ireland joining NATO and the need to punish Russia.
When in reality they’re nothing more than the walking stereotype of a Reddit user.
I thought 120 sounded quite low at first, but the entire force consists of 5000, This means we’re providing 2.4% of the troops while our country makes up only about 1.15% of the EU population. So it does seem that we’re looking more seriously at defence than we used to. I don’t think we’re in a position to throw many resources into our, Europe’s, or Ukraine’s military, while all our public services are on the brink of collapse, but it’s still nice to hear that we’re making some contribution.

I personally think there should be Conscription tomorrow in lreland to provide the EU Army with several Irish Divisions to fight in Ukraine,All men from 18 to 34 should report for immediate training and be sent to the Ukraine to fight within six months and perhaps even win a medal. The pay should be exceptional, perhaps €60,000 p.a. starting pay,all paid by the EU. ( QE could be reintroduced to pay for it) Any parents trying to stop their sons being drafted would be shot for sedition as a warning,an execution post could be set up in Grafton Street,shoot anyone who tries to dodge the draft and their parents too. The soldiers who go would be hailed as heroes, their Glory would be inspirational, we could easily provide Ukraine with 300,000+ Young men ready to fight and die for the Glory of Ukraine. If casualties were high then ask for more men aged 34-44 to fight. Anyone refuses would be sent to prison or shot,harsh but lreland is at war now and we need to prove ourselves to The EU. I would love more than anything to fight myself but sadly l would just be too old but by God l would envy every young guy who goes to fight and had the chance to win a medal. In the American Civil war so many lrish regiments fought on both sides,the most famous being the fighting 69th,they died gloriously at Maryes heights,tens of thousands of Union troops were killed in just three days but their names live on in Glory. As it would with the fighting lrish in Ukraine. Please God someone can set up Irish Divisions soon it would be amazing to see how many medals the lrish might win! Slava Ukraini!!!!
