Anti theft boxes being applied to tuna in Portugal.

  1. Resume: Inflation is causing a huge increase in theft of food, some supermarkets are starting to apply anti-theft boxes to most stolen items including tuna, olive oil, codfish and others.

Most thefts are from old people who need to eat or desperate parents that want to feed their children.

  2. Well, this is sad, and right when my family was making plans to move there in the near future.

  3. I haven’t seen this, so I think it should be pointed out this is happening most probably in rural / low income areas.

Still, Portugal has a lot of economic issues next to inflation.

  4. You guys really like that thing? I guess it works if you prepare a fish salad but I wouldn’t steal one just for that.

  5. The irony here is that the cans to the side are twice as expensive and much superior quality!

This is nothing more than a marketing trick by Bom Petisco…
