Changing PM would be disastrously bad idea, says foreign secretary

  1. You’re right, it would be a disastrous idea to hold another Tory leadership election, which is why the country wants a general election.

  2. I mean, it’s been a disastrously bad idea the last few times, so she’s probably not wrong…
Do we even want to know what lies beneath the bottom of the barrel?

  3. A ‘disastrously bad idea’ for his job security and the Tories overall, perhaps.

Lets not pretend though that what’s happening isn’t exactly what the party itself wanted; they voted her in, in full knowledge of what she planned to do. Don’t let them make Truss the patsy as they’re clearly setting up to do.

  4. For the Conservative party, perhaps.

However, she’s been PM for 39 days. F.J. Robinson, 1st Earl of Ripon holds the dubious honour of having the shortest tenure as Prime Minister¹, holding the post for a total of 144 days.

Given the disaster Truss and her administration have wrought on the country, I can only imagine the chaos that we’ll have to endure if she’s still PM come the end of January 2023.

¹:Excluding George Canning who died in office.

  5. James Cleverly would sell his own mother for a fiver. He jumped onto a sinking ship and knows it.

They should be worried about their local seats not a position in cabinet.

  6. I agree. They’ve already scraped the bottom of the barrel. Anything the Conservatives have to offer would be worse than Liz Truss and she’s not fit to be Prime Minister. That’s why we need a general election.

  7. James Cleverly, formerly the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union. A man responsible for closing 10 london fire stations and publishing Islamophobic and Hinduphobic comments he had made in a pamphlet… all in 7 years!

So about as competent and politically astute as a fucking Tellie Tubbie then.

  8. At least they’re talking about it. I guess next they need to find somebody to replace her and we’ve hit a blue brick wall of lacklustre talent.

  9. Because then surely they would have to hold a general election which they would lose.

Gang of absolute criminals and cretins, gobbling around the trough.

  10. Their options are:

    – Stay in government until next election -> Tory party will basically banish and it will take decades to get support again.

    – Call a general election, assume that they are going to lose and start reforming the party to have a chance in a future election.

They have to decide between losing the general election or disappear as party.

  11. At some point we will be getting the Dickensian Dick head Mr mogg. It’s a set up. Be prepared to send children back up chimneys and down t, pit.

  12. You could pick literally anyone with an understanding of economics sufficient to know that:

    Tax cuts
    Cause
    Inflation
    Cause
Bank of England to have to raise interest rates

Not understanding this is the entire source of the UK’s disastrous situation.

  13. Can we just put my cat in charge? she’s pretty chill and won’t make any bad decisions. She’ll just sit on the coach and maybe pick a fight with the mouser.
