Imagine your grandparents, married for 60 years, living out their final moments bound and gagged and beaten half to death while they are robbed.
How do we ever rehabilitate a 34 year old man who chooses to torture pensioners and leave them to die like this?
That degree of brutality and infliction death and suffering for £30,000? You could save that in 2 or 3 years. I honestly don’t know what went through his head. He planned this for days. I honestly don’t understand any part of this. People like him deserve the death penalty.

What a surprise to find out this scumbag needed a Romanian interpreter. What’s the bets he serves a sub 10 year joke sentence, gets deported then is back within the year to repeat the cycle?
There used to be a concept of “betrayal under trust” where if someone committed a crime against a host who had welcomed them into their own home it was considered the ultimate sin. Our justice system should probably apply those principles to those who pretend to come here for “a better life” but terrorise our public and spit in our collective faces.
