I found this picture on YouTube in the video of Kongesangen posted to the channel Ingen. I want to know what this is a picture of, and reverse image searches did not work to find it.
This is king Harald inspecting his royal guard, he does it once a year. And they always sing the kings psalm at the start of it.
As already stated, it is the King inspecting his royal guards. This is a once a year event. This is also probably the most important days for the ones having their “førstegangstjeneste” in the royal guards.
The inspection of the royal guard. A guy I used to go to school with once told us that he had a friend who was in the royal guard. On one of these inspections he started getting sick right before the whole thing started, and it got really bad during the event. So bad that he had to struggle just to stand upright. To top it of the King was quite slow that day. He held it together until the king had passed him, but less then half a minute later he fainted and collapsed. He quickly got pulled aside and the event continued as if nothing had happened.
