Boris Johnson reaches 100 backers in UK leadership contest – Times, citing source

  1. This effectively means Boris is all but set to be Prime Minister, as Tory members will vote him in over Rishi Sunak

  2. The BBC sources said about 42 this morning, so it’s hard to believe it’s 100 already. Unless they are complete nutters as a number of Tory MPs have said they’d stand down if he were selected.

  3. Just a word of caution, they aren’t necessarily telling the truth. This could be about building momentum. Boris is known for his “bluffing”. Ruffles his hair and fakes it until he makes it.

  4. If you’re ever wondering what Britain is going to do next, just ask yourself: “What’s the single most stupid and damaging things Britain could do to itself?” Whatever the answer is, that’s what we’ll do, clearly.

  5. Great and since the stupid fuckers in his membership will vote for him , he’s basically back in and the fucking bonkers cycle continues. If nothing else this will prove to the last few amoeba who can’t still see it already that the Conservatives party , for the foreseeable future is a lunatic asylum.

  6. I’m laughing , but some people must really feel like they are the victim in a slasher movie facing an unstoppable killer. You thought he was dead? This is his second breath.

    Who is his next victim?

  7. This is completely unverified and a line started by Boris’ close allies. Only half that number have publicly announced their support whereas more than 100 have publicly announced for for Sunak. I’m convinced it isn’t true and is a tactic to make his victory seem inevitable, the actually proven support for him is miles off this number.

  8. He might eventually get there, but he’s almost certainly lying about having 100 backers right now.

Nothing to lose by lying, everything to gain.
